PROJECT MANAGER

The post holder will be managed by, and report to, the Executive Group of the Alliance.

Duties
• To manage the overall implementation of the work programme of the Alliance for 2010 and 2011 and to coordinate the delivery of its outputs;
• To monitor, evaluate and report on the progress of the work programme;
• To manage the Alliance’s financial grant and ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled;
• To support fundraising activities of the Alliance;
• To manage the Secretariat of the Alliance, hosted by CEV, including line-management of a Project Officer and administrative support, as well as volunteers;
• To manage internal and external information and communication work of the Alliance in relation to EYV 2011;
• To represent the Alliance at meetings with EU institutions and other external stakeholders, as well as at conferences, seminars and other events;
• To manage the ongoing activities of the Working Groups established within the Alliance;
• To support, together with the Project Officer, the Executive Group with the preparation of meetings of the Steering Group and to attend the meetings of the Steering Group and the Executive Group.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• At least three years work experience in a field relevant to this post, such as project, financial and staff/volunteer management, strategic planning, advocacy, CSO leadership, European policies;
• Experience in managing large-scale projects and initiatives;
• Proven effective written and oral communication skills in English; other European languages are considered an asset;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the capacity to develop relationships quickly with a multitude of stakeholders;
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of EU institutions and European policies relevant to volunteering; knowledge of activities related to European Years in the EU is desirable;
• Passion for and sound knowledge of the CSO landscape at EU level in general and specifically in relation to promoting and recognising volunteering in the EU; personal experience of volunteering is desirable;
Proven ability to act on own initiative, manage, organise and prioritise workloads;
• Confidence, reliability, flexibility and capacity to work as part of a team, in a small and challenging work environment;
• High standard of PC skills;
• Sensitivity to and experience of working in a multicultural environment;
• Commitment to, and understanding of, equal opportunities.

PROJECT OFFICER

The post holder will be managed by, and report to, the Project Manager of the Alliance Secretariat.

Duties
• To coordinate, under the supervision of the Project Manager, the overall implementation of the work programme of the Alliance for 2010 and 2011 and the delivery of its outputs;
• To support the Project Manager in monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the progress of the work programme;
• To coordinate the work of the Secretariat of the Alliance, hosted by CEV;
• To ensure that the Alliance website (www.eyv2011.eu) is kept up-to-date;
• To support the Project Manager in internal and external information and communication work of the Alliance in relation to EYV 2011;
• To provide support to the Working Groups established within the Alliance;
• To support, together with the Project Manager, the Executive Group with the preparation of meetings of the Steering Group;
• To provide support, including minute-taking, to the meetings of the Steering Group
• To provide support during external events which involve the Alliance, including minutetaking.
